This half term, the children were put into mixed groups across both the classes for their DT project. Their challenge was to design, plan, make and evaluate either a blanket or a hammock for an Amazon explorer, like Bear Grylls or Steve Backshall. The first task was for the children to do some research into the kinds of items that are already available on the market. From this children then, planned their product and decided which materials would be suitable for use. The next task was for children to choose a range of materials to then make a prototype of their planned design. To end our DT project, each group presented their final product to the rest of the class. This allowed children to evaluate their end result and discuss things that they could do next time to improve their design.
