Eggs!
Over the past couple of weeks, reception have waited patiently for our chicken eggs to hatch. On Tuesday we saw that one egg had a tiny crack and over the course of the day it had grown larger! Through the night, the little chick had managed to peck its way out so we had a lovely surprise on Wednesday morning. The children were full of excitement as they peered into the incubator to find a fluffy, yellow chick! The children created lots of fantastic pictures of the chick and decided on names to call him… or her? Unfortunately, we have only had one chick out of six eggs that has hatched. Hopefully, the rest of the eggs will hatch over the next day, but if not we will have a surprise delivery of chicks next week for the children to take care of and observe.
