On Tuesday 1st November 2016, we visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park in order to learn about adaptation and evolution. The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the park and spent time observing the animals including wallabies, polar bears, tigers and giraffes. All children then took part in a workshop in which they had the chance to handle fossils which were over 60million years old and look at replica skulls of some of the animals in the park. We were lucky enough to handle a real ostrich egg and a piece of fossilised dinosaur egg! It was a fantastic day out and one that has started our science topic on evolution with a bang.
