Farm Trip
This half term reception went on their very first school trip! Our trip to St Leonard’s farm in Esholt tied into our learning topic about animals and lifecycles and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. During the trip we took part in a baby animal talk where the children were able to stroke a range of baby animals including a lamb, goat, guinea pig, piglet and rat. After meeting the babies and learning their names we got the chance to meet their mums on a walk through the barns. This was a highlight for many of the children who enjoyed the ticklish feeling as the sheep, goats and donkeys ate food directly out of the children’s hands. In addition to all the children’s time with the animals they also got to spend a fun packed hour in the warehouse sized fun barn. In the fun barn children climbed, crawled and slid, showing off their physical skills and even convincing the adults to get in on the fun. By the time we all got on the coach at the end of the day we were so tired that some of us even took the chance for a power nap. We can’t wait to go on our next school trip.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
