On Monday and Tuesday, we recreated the Great Fire of London. In the morning we built Tudor timber frame houses out of cardboard. Then in the afternoon, we went out to the field and recreated the fire! One house was chosen to be Pudding Lane bakery where the fire started and we watched how the fire spread. We pretended to be the wind by wafting the fire and we also got to be firefighters, seeing if we could extinguish the fire by throwing water on it. The children absolutely loved this hands-on fire experience!
