For our indoor PE sessions this half term, Year 1 have been doing gymstastics, learning about different ways to travel and jump. Last week we explored different ways of travelling - on our feet, on our hands and feet, sliding and rolling. This week, we practiced how to do a stretched jump and a tucked jump. Then, the children applied their learning and had to come up with a creative way to travel across the hall then add in a jump. The children surprised us with their limitless creativity and different ideas of ways to move across the room. Finally, we worked in pairs to create a simple synchronised routine.
