Online Safety Parent Workshop Nov 2016

Online Safety Parent Workshop

Mr Bradshaw led a presentation for parents all about online safety for children. The internet is a wonderful place for children to be able to access - full of resources and content unimaginable even just a decade ago. However, because of the open source nature of it's content and it's accessibility to people all across the globe, there are dangers and issues that we must educate our children about.

The presentation discussed some of these concerns and offered possible strategies and solutions to overcome them and allow your children to operate in a safer online space. Topics discussed included cyber bullying, parental safety locks, social media sites, online gaming, internet "stranger danger", responsible usage and some general guidelines to follow in order for your children to stay safe online. Thank you to all those parents who braved the bad weather and came along to discuss this important issue.

See below for some resources from the event and some tips on how to set up parental controls.
