Yesterday, Year 4 went on a trip to Sunnybank Mills. The mills, which is on Town Street, was an important part of the development of Farsley and the children enjoyed hearing its story. It was a great opportunity to find out how wool is made into cloth and learn the impact of this on the growth of Leeds as a city. The children enjoyed a tour and even went up the 1912 mill, which is one of Farsley's tallest buildings. The children also did a fact finding treasure hunt in the archives, tried weaving on a hand loom and investigated some historical artefacts. The children really enjoyed the trip and there were great smiles all around.
