School trip to Sunnybank Mills.
This week the children of Year 4 made their exciting trip into the past by visiting Sunnybank Mills Archives. The children were really looking forward to visiting the mill after writing spooky stories set there and their recent learning about child mill workers. This trip really brought the children's learning to life! The children were treated to a tour of the old textile rooms, an exciting look at original Victorian looms as well as having the opportunity to design their own piece of weaving. After the day was done, the children unanimously voted that school is a better option when compared to the manual labour of the children who mended at Sunnybank!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
