3C's enterprise profit
3C made a staggering £63 of profit from their ice lolly enterprise sale! The class decided to put each company's profit together so that they could have one lump sum to spend. After lots of ideas and decision making, the class decided they would like to spend their profit on a class party with treats and also bought a selection of new games for the wet playtime box to take with them up to year 4.
Year 3 play golf!
Today Year 3 had the chance to play golf with the coaches from Fulneck Golf Club. Everybody had the chance to practice their golf skills. Some children managed to hit their golf balls through the target at the other end of the field! The children had lots of fun in the sunshine and some even found a new talent for golf.
YR3 Lolly Sale
On Wednesday, to end our enterprise business topic, Year 3 held a lolly sale at playtime. All companies had their selling strategies planned and stall signs ready, with big ideas of making a lot of profit. There were 12 companies in total across the year group and all competed against each other to sell the most amount of lollies. Luck was on their side, the sun was shining brightly and the Springbankers were hot and thirsty for an icy treat! Each group were very professional with their customer service skills and handled taking money and giving change with confidence. The lollies were a sell out and everybody commented how delicious and refreshing they were!
The Year 3 children had lots of fun taking part and are proud of the profit they have made. We are now in talks about how we are going to spend our hard earned cash before the summer holidays.
The Week Year 3 have been very luck to be able to take part in the Priesthorpe Decathalon. It is run by young leaders of the school who design 10 activities for the children to take part in. Each activity required the children to work as a team to gain as many points as they could. These point were then collected together to find out who won.
Children form Farsley Farfield School also joined us for this event on our school field. The children had lots of fun and were all really good team players cheering on the others in their team.
In the end one of the teams from Farsley Farfield collected the most points and were declared the winners. the children were great sportsmen and gave the winning team a cheer!
Since the beginning of term Year 3 have been developing their very own ice lolly companies. Each team have come up with their own company name and have carried out research about lollies that are already on the market.
After taste testing delicious healthy juices and different kinds of fruit, each company has designed a healthy ice lolly recipe and this week they have been making them.
Next week the children will be selling their tasty ice lollies to the whole school at break time. Dates are yet to be confirmed so keep an eye out!
Last week YR3 were reading Treasure Island. From using the ideas in the story, YR3 have been writing adventure stories with pirates as their main characters. They all wrote some fantastic setting descriptions of desert islands and they really enjoyed thinking of storylines to find the treasure. At the end of the week, the children watched a live performance of Treasure Island which they really enjoyed!
