Year 6 Home Learning - 2017
As of January 2017, each child in year 6 will be provided with three home learning books, one for grammar, reading and maths. These books are theirs to keep and the children will complete work in them as directed.
The books contain ‘10 minute tests’ which are mixed revision activities for year 6 to complete. The children will be asked to complete 6 activities each week in total for their home learning, 2 reading, 2 grammar and 2 maths (totalling an hour) – we will work through the revision books in order and some of these activities will also be completed during school time. It is extremely important that each child looks after their book, keeping it clean, dry and in good condition. They will also need to keep these books in their bags/book bags at all times as we may decide to mark them or use them on any day. Year 6 will also receive learning logs to complete but these will be given out less often in the lead up to the SATs. If you have any questions regarding the homework please as one of the year 6 team.
The three books must be handed in to school on the Thursday of each week. If they are not returned or homework is not completed we will ask the children to complete theirs on a lunchtime.
Children will be expected to continue with their weekly reading as normal and hand in Reading Diaries on a Thursday.
