We have had a lovely week to finish our first half term of the year. This week, it has been Arts Week in school and we have been doing all things art!
Alongside working on our own art projects, we have been taking part in a variety of different workshops: drama with Northern Arts Factory and poetry writing with Matt Abbott, as well as watching performances with Backchat Brass and Helen Minshall.
On Wednesday, we also got the opportunity to visit Leeds Art Gallery and view some pieces of art on display there.
In the classroom, we have been working on our own project - printing. We first looked at a focus artist, Edward Lear and then did some observational drawings of ammonites. We then practised using two different types of printing: polystyrene and relief. Our final piece was then to create a collage style background using tissue paper, then to print on top using our perferred type of printing.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
