Year 3 and 4 football 21.10.2025

On Tuesday, a group of children from Year 3 and 4 took part in a friendly football event with Westroyd. The children played in 3, 10 minute matches and were full of excitement before we started. The rain luckily stopped before the match the children were able to play - although they did get a bit muddy! All the children played really well as part of a team, well done Year 3 and 4!

Year 5 and 6 boys' football 16.10.2025

On Thursday, a group of boys from Year 5 and 6 went down to Crawshaw for a

competitive football event. They played 4 matches against other schools in the Pudsey area, winning the first match 1-0 with Max scoring and drawing the rest 0-0. This allowed the boys to qualify to the 'semi finals' with that result being 2-1 to the other team. This unfortunatley meant we didn't make it to the 'final' but everyone played brilliantly - well done boys!

Year 5 and 6 girls' football 09.10.2025

On Thursday, a group of girls from Year 5 and 6 went down to Crawshaw to take part in a football event with other schools in the local Pudsey area. The weather conditions were great and the girls were full of enthusiasm as we made our way there in the minibus. The children played 5 matches and all played brilliantly as part of a team - well done girls!

On Tuesday, a group of our Year 5 and 6 footballers took to the pitch at Springbank to play a friendly fixture against Westroyd. The teams played three 15-minute matches, with plenty of skill, teamwork and determination on display throughout.

In the first match, Springbank won with a 2-1 win, thanks to two fantastic goals from Alfie. The second resulted in a 0-0 draw. The third and final match saw Springbank finish with a 2-0 victory, with great goals from Elliot and Alfie,

All of the children from both Springbank and Westroyd played brilliantly, showing great sportsmanship, effort and team spirit. Well done Year 5 and 6!

The children took part in 4 matches against other local schools, the weather conditions were great so they were able to use the space outside. The children were split into two teams, both competiting seperatly and everyone did very well! There was great attacking and defending from all, well done to everyone involved!

KS2 Cross Country 26.09.2025

On Friday, 26th September 50 children from Springbank entered the qualifying rounds of the Leeds Schools Cross-Country competition at Stanningley Rugby Club. We were blessed with almost perfect cross-country conditions - cool and sunny with a little breeze and this certainly helped keep spirits high! Year 3 and 4 started us off with excellent individual and team performances. For these year groups, it was the children's first ever experience of competitive cross-country. After Year 3 and 4 had set the bar so high, Years 5 and 6 had big footsteps to follow in and they did so admirably with a huge amount of top ten finishes! The children represented school brilliantly, showed excellent perseverance, determination and sportsmanship throughout the afternoon.  It really was a brilliant event to be a part of and we now await the results to see if any children or teams have qualified for the Leeds City Final, held in February!

Year 3 and 4 Handball 25.09.2025

On Thursday, Year 3 and 4 took part in a Come and Try handball event at Crawshaw High School. The children took part in a range of matches against other schools and were fantastic. They won some games and lost some games but the children showed true sportsmanship, always celebrating other teams successes and shaking hands after every match. Darcey was awarded a 'respect' wristband from a sports leader for showing respect throughout the matches - well done!

KS2 Fun Run 18.09.2025

On Thursday, we had our first sporting event of the year! The weather conditions were great and there was a great turnout, with 4 other schools who had come to take part from the local area. The children had to put their stamina to the test by running continuously for 40 minutes. They showed great determination, even when they were getting tired. We have lots of events lined up for this year with cross country and handball next week.
