Year 3 and 4 boys' football 19.03.2026
On Thursday, a group of boys from Year 3 and 4 went down to Crawshaw for a friendly football event. The weather conditions were great and the boys were full of excitement to take part and represent Springbank.The children were split into two teams of 7 playing against different schools in the Pudsey Cluster. They won and drew lots of their games, with many goals being scored. They all played extremley well and should be very proud of their performance!
Skipping Festival 19.03.2026
On Thursday, a group of children from Year 4 went to Armley Leisure Centre to take part in a skipping competition. The children have been practising for weeks, with lots of children even giving up their own play and lunch times to practise. The children travelled down to Armley, full of excitement and a few nerves. They took part in group skips to warm up, followed by phase 1. In this part, the children who had their individual skips took to the stage to perform. After this, the children had another group skip together, followed by the partner skips. Finally, the group skips (keep the pot boiling and run, jump out) had their turn. The children waited in anticipation as they read out the results, they all did SO well with lots of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. We were the overall winners, which is an incredible achievement and the first time Springbank has ever qualified! The Leeds City Final is on the 9th June so they need to continue their practising until then! What a fabulous achievement, every single person involved should be so proud. Well done Year 4!
Year 3 and 4 Girls' Football 13.03.2026
On Thursday, a group of girls from Year 3 and 4 went to Crawshaw for a football event. The weather conditions were terrible and it had to be held inside at the last minute to avoid the rain! The girls were split into 2 teams and took part in a few matches against other schools in the Pudsey Cluster. There were many goals scored and the girls played really well. Well done Year 3 and 4!
West Yorkshire Cross Country Final 03.03.2026
On Tuesday, 3 children went down to Temple Newsam for the West Yorkshire Cross Country Final! What an incredible achievement to even attend this event, the children (and staff) are so proud of them! Luckily, the weather conditions were good and the rain had stopped for the race. The children had to run 900m up hills and on different terrains so it was extremely challenging. They all showed determination, resilience and their efforts were outstanding. Well done boys!
Year 5 and 6 boules 12.02.2026
On Thursday, it was Year 5 and 6's turn to head down to Crawshaw to take part in a boules event. The children showed great enthusiasm and attitude throughout and the children soon realised this game required skill and it only looks easier than it is! All the children did really well and should be very proud of themselves. Well done Springbank!
Cross Country Final 04.02.2026
On Wednesday a selected group of children who qualified from Key Stage 2 competed in the Leeds City Cross Country final at Temple Newsam. Despite the cold and wet conditions, the children showed incredible determination and resilience, giving their best efforts throughout the race. Their hard work and perseverance paid off as they all performed brilliantly and represented Springbank with pride. The challenging weather didn’t stop them from pushing through, although they were all looking forward to getting nice and warm afterwards. Well done KS2!
Year 4 and 5 Nerf Wars 28.01.2026
On Wednesday, a group of Year 4 and 5 children were invited to take part in an exciting Nerf Wars event at Farsley Celtic. The children arrived full of energy, ready to compete in a series of action-packed games. They competed both individually and as teams against other children from other local schools testing their agility, strategy, and teamwork skills. The event was a great opportunity for the children to have fun and showcase their competitive spirit in a friendly and supportive environment. A big thank you to LWPS for hosting this amazing experience!
Year 1 and 2 multiskills 22.01.2026
A group of children from Year 1 and 2 visited Crawshaw High School on Thursday to take part in a multiskills event with other schools from the Pudsey Cluster. The children enjoyed a variety of activities that challenged them to run, jump, balance, and work together as a team. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to develop their physical skills while having fun with children from other schools. Everyone had a great time, well done Year 1 and 2!
Year 1 and 2 Gymnastics 19.01.2026
On Monday, a group of children from KS1 went to Gym Magic in Pudsey to take part in a gymnastics session. The children got to use the gymnastics studio with all of the equipment, which was really exciting. They took part in a range of activities including jumping, balancing and travelling. They all ended with huge smiles on their faces, well done Year 1 and 2!
Year 5 and 6 basketball 15.01.2026
On Thursday, a group of children from Years 5 and 6 went to Crawshaw High to an after-school basketball event. The children played a range of games, from shooting to match play against other teams from other schools in the area. The children showed fantastic team spirit, cheering each other on and working well together during the minigames. They also displayed excellent sportsmanship, congratulating other teams on their wins and shaking hands after every game. Although we did not win, the children had a fantastic time and made Springbank proud!
Year 5 and 6 netball 27.11.2025
On Thursday, a group of children from Year 5 and 6 went to Crawshaw for a netball event. The event was a 'develop and play' so there was an emphasis on having fun and less on keeping scores. The children were split into two groups and played other schools in the Pudsey Cluster. They all did so well, we were missing a few players but you would not have noticed! Well done Year 5 and 6!

On Monday, a group of children from Year 3 and 4 went down to Horsforth High School to take part in a dodgeball event. It was a cold afternoon but that didn't dampen spirits! They took part in a few matches with other children from different schools in the Leeds area. All the children were amazing and should be very proud of themselves! Well done Year 3 and 4!

It was a frosty day and because the hall was being used, the children had to brave the cold outside! They all did extremely well, showing determination and resilience throughout. The event was a 'develop and play' so no scores were taken and there was an emphasis on having fun. Well done Year 3 and 4!

On Thursday, a group of Year 5 and 6 children went down to Crawshaw for a dodgeball event. The event took place in the school hall, so we didn't have to brave the cold weather outside! The children played a few games against other schools in the Pudsey Cluster. They all did really well, showing great sportsmanship and determination. We are still awaiting results, but regardless the children should be all very proud of themselves!

On Tuesday, a group of children from Year 3 and 4 took part in a friendly football event with Westroyd. The children played in 3, 10 minute matches and were full of excitement before we started. The rain luckily stopped before the match the children were able to play - although they did get a bit muddy! All the children played really well as part of a team, well done Year 3 and 4!
Year 5 and 6 boys' football 16.10.2025
On Thursday, a group of boys from Year 5 and 6 went down to Crawshaw for a
competitive football event. They played 4 matches against other schools in the Pudsey area, winning the first match 1-0 with Max scoring and drawing the rest 0-0. This allowed the boys to qualify to the 'semi finals' with that result being 2-1 to the other team. This unfortunatley meant we didn't make it to the 'final' but everyone played brilliantly - well done boys!

On Thursday, a group of girls from Year 5 and 6 went down to Crawshaw to take part in a football event with other schools in the local Pudsey area. The weather conditions were great and the girls were full of enthusiasm as we made our way there in the minibus. The children played 5 matches and all played brilliantly as part of a team - well done girls!
Year 5 and 6 football 07.10.2025
On Tuesday, a group of our Year 5 and 6 footballers took to the pitch at Springbank to play a friendly fixture against Westroyd. The teams played three 15-minute matches, with plenty of skill, teamwork and determination on display throughout.
In the first match, Springbank won with a 2-1 win, thanks to two fantastic goals from Alfie. The second resulted in a 0-0 draw. The third and final match saw Springbank finish with a 2-0 victory, with great goals from Elliot and Alfie,
All of the children from both Springbank and Westroyd played brilliantly, showing great sportsmanship, effort and team spirit. Well done Year 5 and 6!
Year 5 and 6 Handball 02.10.2025
On Thursday, a group of Year 5 and 6 children went down to Crawshaw for a handball event. The children took part in 4 matches against other local schools, the weather conditions were great so they were able to use the space outside. The children were split into two teams, both competiting seperatly and everyone did very well! There was great attacking and defending from all, well done to everyone involved!
KS2 Cross Country 26.09.2025
On Friday, 26th September 50 children from Springbank entered the qualifying rounds of the Leeds Schools Cross-Country competition at Stanningley Rugby Club. We were blessed with almost perfect cross-country conditions - cool and sunny with a little breeze and this certainly helped keep spirits high! Year 3 and 4 started us off with excellent individual and team performances. For these year groups, it was the children's first ever experience of competitive cross-country. After Year 3 and 4 had set the bar so high, Years 5 and 6 had big footsteps to follow in and they did so admirably with a huge amount of top ten finishes! The children represented school brilliantly, showed excellent perseverance, determination and sportsmanship throughout the afternoon. It really was a brilliant event to be a part of and we now await the results to see if any children or teams have qualified for the Leeds City Final, held in February!
Year 3 and 4 Handball 25.09.2025
On Thursday, Year 3 and 4 took part in a Come and Try handball event at Crawshaw High School. The children took part in a range of matches against other schools and were fantastic. They won some games and lost some games but the children showed true sportsmanship, always celebrating other teams successes and shaking hands after every match. Darcey was awarded a 'respect' wristband from a sports leader for showing respect throughout the matches - well done!
KS2 Fun Run 18.09.2025
On Thursday, we had our first sporting event of the year! The weather conditions were great and there was a great turnout, with 4 other schools who had come to take part from the local area. The children had to put their stamina to the test by running continuously for 40 minutes. They showed great determination, even when they were getting tired. We have lots of events lined up for this year with cross country and handball next week.
