Year 4 Football 29.04.2025
On Tuesday, a group of Year 4 boys represented Springbank at a football tournament held in Middleton. With the sun shining and perfect weather conditions, the team played brilliantly across eight matches against schools from across Leeds.
Demonstrating great teamwork and skill, they secured an impressive six wins out of eight games. Their fantastic performance earned them 2nd place in their league – a great achievement! Well done to everyone who took part!
Swimming Gala 28.04.2025
A group of Year 4 and 5 children took part on Monday in a fantastic swimming gala at Bramley Baths. Representing our school with great energy and team spirit, the children competed in a variety of races and showed off their swimming skills. It was a brilliant opportunity and it will be the first of many! Well done to everyone who took part!
Skipping Festival 24.05.2025
On Thursday, a group of enthusiastic Year 4 children took part in a fun-filled skipping festival in Armley. The event was packed with energy as the children participated in a variety of activities, including group skips, individual challenges, and team events. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to finally showcase what they have learnt as they have been practising these skips for weeks now, well done everyone!
KS2 Orienteering 27.03.2025
A group of KS2 children went down to Crawshaw and took part in an exciting orienteering event, where teamwork and quick thinking were key! Working together, they raced against the clock to navigate the course and complete a series of tricky challenges. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to develop their problem-solving skills and resilience whilst having great fun outdoors. Well done to everyone who took part!
KS1 football skills 20.03.2025
A group of our KS1 children had a fantastic time at Crawshaw on Thursday, where they took part in an exciting football skills session. The children practiced their dribbling, passing, and shooting techniques, all while having lots of fun and working together as a team. The session was a great opportunity for them to develop their confidence and coordination, and they showed fantastic enthusiasm throughout. Well done KS1!
Nerf Wars 14.03.2025
On Friday, a group of Year 4 and 5 children were invited to take part in an exciting Nerf Wars event at Hollybush Primary. The children arrived full of energy, ready to compete in a series of action-packed games. They competed both individually and as teams against other children from Hollybush Primary and Bolton Royd, testing their agility, strategy, and teamwork skills. The event was a great opportunity for the children to have fun and showcase their competitive spirit in a friendly and supportive environment. A big thank you to Hollybush Primary for hosting this amazing experience!
Boys football 13.03.2025
On Thursday, a group of boys from Year 3 and 4 went down to Crawshaw for a friendly football event. The weather conditions were great and the boys were full of excitement to take part and represent Springbank.The children were split into two teams of 7 playing against Southroyd, Parkspring and Westroyd. They all played extremley well and should be very proud of their performance!
Girls football 07.03.2025
Today, to mark International Women's Day, a group of Year 5 and 6 children participated in a football event at Goals in Kirkstall, where they played against girls from across Leeds. The weather conditions were perfect for the event. The team kicked off with three matches: the first was a 2-1 victory against Holy Family, with Bethany scoring both goals. The second match was a 5-1 loss against Brodetsky, with Esmae netting a goal. The final match ended in a 0-0 draw against Chapel Allerton. After the matches, the girls took part in coaching sessions to enhance their skills. They all worked really well together and represented Springbank fantastically!
Girls football 06.03.2025
On Thursday, a group of girls from Year 3 and 4 were chosen to go down to Crawshaw for a football event. The weather conditions were great, the sun was shining and the girls were full of excitement. The children were split into 2 teams and took part in 5 matches against other schools in the Pudsey Cluster. Everyone played extremely well! Many goals were scored and they all ended the matches with huge smiles. Well done!
Cross Country Final 12.02.2025
On Wednesday a selected group of children who qualified from Key Stage 2 competed in the Leeds City Cross Country final at Temple Newsam. Despite the cold and wet conditions, the children showed incredible determination and resilience, giving their best efforts throughout the race. Their hard work and perseverance paid off as they all performed brilliantly and represented Springbank with pride. The challenging weather didn’t stop them from pushing through, although they were all looking forward to getting nice and warm afterwards. Well done KS2!
Year 5 and 6 Football 11.02.2025
On Tuesday, Year 5 and 6 were very excited to play a football match between Westroyd and Farfield. Despite the cold and wet weather, all children showed great determination and skill throughout. The first match for Team A was against Westroyd, which ended in a 1-1 draw with a goal from Max. Both teams battled hard in the damp conditions, but a well-earned draw was a fair result. Team B kicked off their first match with a fantastic 7-1 score against Farfield from Rocco, Billy, Atticus, Alfie, and Finley. The whole team displayed excellent passing and teamwork to secure the win. In their second match against Farfield, Team B continued their strong form, winning 3-0 and team A played their second match against Westroyd, this time they claimed a 2-1 victory. The final match was against the two Springbank teams which ended in 2-1. You all worked so well together and played brilliantly, well done!
KS2 Multistills 10.02.2025
A group of children from Key Stage 2 participated in a fun and exciting multiskills event at John Smeaton. Throughout the day, they took part in a variety of activities that challenged both their teamwork and individual skills. The children worked together, supporting one another, while also pushing themselves to perform their best on their own. At the end of the event, the children were proudly awarded medals for their effort and enthusiasm, well done KS2!
Year 1 and 2 Multiskills 06.02.2025
A group of children from Year 1 and 2 visited Crawshaw High School on Thursday to take part in a multiskills event with other schools from the Pudsey Cluster. The children enjoyed a variety of activities that challenged them to run, jump, balance, and work together as a team. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to develop their physical skills while having fun with children from other schools. Everyone had a great time, well done Year 1 and 2!
Year 5 and 6 boules 30.01.2025
On Thursday, it was Year 5 and 6's turn to head down to Crawshaw to take part in a boules event. The children showed great enthusiasm and attitude throughout and the children soon realised this game required skill and it only looks easier than it is! All the children did really well and should be very proud of themselves. Well done Springbank!
Year 3 and 4 boules 23.01.2025
A group of Year 3 and 4 children visited Crawshaw on Thursday to participate in a 'Develop and Play' boules session. They demonstrated great determination and teamwork as they engaged in the activity, all while having a lot of fun. You wouldn't have guess that it was a lot of their first time playing! The children took part in 5 games whilst we were there with different schools in the Pudsey cluster. Well done Year 3 and 4!
Gymnastics 20.01.2025
On Monday, a group of children from KS1 went to Gym Magic in Pudsey to take part in a gymnastics session. The children got to use the gymnastics studio with all of the equipment, including the sponge pit! They took part in a range of activities including jumping, balancing and travelling. They all ended with huge smiles on their faces, well done Year 1 and 2!
Year 5 and 6 basketball 16.01.2025
On Thursday, a group of children from Years 5 and 6 went to Crawshaw High to an after-school basketball event. The children played a range of games, from shooting to match play against other teams from other schools in the area. The children showed fantastic team spirit, cheering each other on and working well together during the minigames. They also displayed excellent sportsmanship, congratulating other teams on their wins and shaking hands after every game. Although we did not win, the children had a fantastic time and made Springbank proud!
Girls football 14.01.2025
This year, we are trying to get more girls playing football! We have started our year with a Year 2 and 3 girls football event. Due to the snowy weather conditions, this match had to take place in the hall. The children were split into 3 teams and played 6 matches in total. All of the girls played so well and worked together. The winners were the blue team, well done!
Benchball 05.12.2024
On Thursday, a group of Year 3 and 4 children went to Crawshaw for a benchball event. Weather conditions were very wet so the children played a total of 5 matches in the school hall. I saw great effort from lots of the children, Isabelle recieved a 'respect' band and Teddy was given a 'determination' band for their great contribution. Well done!
Dodgeball 21.11.2024
This week, it was Year 3 and 4s turn to head down to Crawshaw for a dodgeball event. The weather conditions were cold, so luckily we were able to use the hall! Everyone was feeling confident and excited as we made our way down in the minibuses. The children were split into 2 teams (A and B) and competed seperatley and all did well, showing great determination and team work throughout. Springbank B came 3rd overall and A came 5th, well done everyone involved!
Dodgeball 14.11.2024
On Thursday, a group of Year 5 and 6 children went down to Crawshaw for a dodgeball event. The weather conditions were good and the children were full of enthusiasm as we travelled down. The children played 5 games against other schools in the Pudsey Cluster. We are still awaiting results, but regardless the children should be all very proud of themseleves!
Cheer and Dance 13.11.2024
A group of children from Years 2 and 3 recently attended a cheer dance workshop at Benton Park, alongside many other local schools. The children learnt a variety of cheerleading moves, jumps and cannons then put it into a full dance routine, despite the fact that some of the children had never tried cheerleading before. They all worked extremely hard and were super proud of themselves as a result. As well as this, a few children earned ‘determination’ bands for their efforts after being recognised by the Sports Leaders from Benton Park who helped to run the event. Not only did these children work so hard, they made Springbank very proud. Well done to all involved!
Girls football 22.10.2024
On Tuesday, a group of girls from Year 5 and 6 went down to Pudsey Grammar to take part in a football event with other schools in the local Pudsey area. The weather conditions were great and the girls were full of enthusiasm as we made our way there in the minibus. The children were split into two teams and the first matches were against Pudsey Lowtown. Throughout the first matches, Laura and Phoebe had some great shots on target and there was fantastic defending from Rin. The match ended 1-0 to Springbank after a great goal from Laura and 1-0 to Pudsey Lowtown with Team 2. The second match was against Swinnow, Elli was in goal and showed great defending throughout. This ended 1-1 with Kara scoring. In the third match, both Esmae, Laura, Ruby and Kara scored and in the final match, Kara and Phoebe scored again! Rin and Laura also recieved a 'team work' wrist band for their contribution. What a great team effort from everyone, well done!

We have had our second 'in house' event of the year, this time with Year 5 and 6. The children played 6 matches against eachother, showing great determination throughout. There was good team work and fantastic defending. Our overall winners were the blue team! Well done to everyone.
Handball 10.10.2024
On Thursday, a group of Year 5 and 6 children went down to Crawshaw for a handball event. The children took part in 4 matches against other local schools, the weather conditions were great so they were able to use the space outside. The children were split into two teams, both competiting seperatly and everyone did very well! There was great attacking and defending from all, well done to everyone involved!
Football with Westroyd 08.10.2024
On Tuesday, Year 5 and 6 took part in a football competition against Westroyd. The weather conditions were great and the rain stopped just before we began playing. The children played a 35 minute match and we started with Nate in goal for the first half. We got off to a great start with some great saves from Nate and good attempts on target from Atticus. It was Isaac who scored us our first goal and went on to score 3 more! Ruby went on to score two goals in the first half which ended in 6-2 to Springbank. During the second half, Joshua was in goal and saved some more attempts from Westroyd. To finish, Nate, Ruby and Atticus both scored which made the final result 9-3 to Springbank. Well done everyone!
Benchball 30.09.2024
This year, we are trying to increase participation of all children at Springbank. To achieve this, we want to hold as many competitions and events as possible! Our first in house event was benchball with Year 3 and 4. We split the children in to teams (blue and green) and were able to complete 6 games over the hour. Overall, the greens were the winners - well done to everyone!
Cross Country competition 27.09.2024
On Friday, 27th September 56 children from Springbank entered the qualifying rounds of the Leeds Schools Cross-Country competition at Stanningley Rugby Club. We were blessed with almost perfect cross-country conditions - cool and sunny with a little breeze and this certainly helped keep spirits high! Year 3 and 4 started us off with excellent individual and team performances. For these year groups, it was the children's first ever experience of competitive cross-country after the competition was unfortunately cancelled due to adverse weather in September and October. This made their performances - all children came in the top 50 of the area! - even more impressive. After Year 3 and 4 had set the bar so high, Years 5 and 6 had big footsteps to follow in and they did so admirably with a huge amount of top ten finishes! The children represented school brilliantly, showed excellent perseverance, determination and sportsmanship throughout the afternoon. It really was a brilliant event to be a part of and we now await the results to see if any children or teams have qualified for the Leeds City Final, held in February!
Year 3 and 4 handball 27.09.2024
During week 4, years 3 and 4 took part in a Come and Try handball event at Crawshaw High School. The children took part in a range of matches against other schools and were fantastic. They won some games and lost some games but the children showed true sportsmanship, always celebrating other teams successes and shaking hands after every match. The children did us proud!
Football with Westroyd and Farfield 24.09.2024
On Tuesday, Westroyd and Farfield came down to take part in an interschool sporting event. This gave the opportunity for the children to have an element of competition with local schools and something we hope to do more of this year! The children took part in a total of matches and the weather conditions were great. As a team, they took it in turns to have a go at different positions and showed great resilience throughout. Well done everyone!
KS2 Fun Run 19.09.2024
On Thursday, we had our first sporting event of the year and our first trip in the school minibus! All of the children were excited and full of enthusiasm as we travelled down to Crawshaw. The weather conditions were great and there was a great turnout, with 6 other schools who had come to take part from the local area. The children had to put their stamina to the test by running continuously for 40 minutes. They showed great determination, even when they were getting tired and some of our Year 6s completed over 20 laps! Well done everyone, what a great start to the year!
