Year 5 Autumn Week 8 – Arts Week! 🎨🎺

Year 5 had a fantastic time during Arts Week, exploring creativity in so many ways! In art lessons the children practised mixing colours effectively to make shades and tints of green, thought carefully about foreground and background in their sketches, and planned and started making their final pieces. They also enjoyed a session with poet Matt Abbott, getting inspired by his work and playing with words, as well as visiting the Sunnybank Mills exhibition to see a wide range of artistic creations. Our first outdoor learning session was a big hit, giving the children the chance to explore nature while learning in a new environment. They really enjoyed the Halloween challenges! We also took part in a Northern Arts drama session and enjoyed a lively Back Chat Brass workshop, discovering the sounds of brass instruments. The children also had a clay session, designing and making their own clay animals, using their imagination brilliantly to create some fantastic pieces.
