  • Year 5 singing in the community

    Thu 04 Dec 2025

Over half of our Year 5 children volunteered to visit St John’s Church Hall, to entertain older members of our community at the Farsley Live at Home scheme’s Christmas Lunch. They sang lots of their favourite Christmas songs, and it turned into a festive singalong as many of the members joined in with them. There was even a visit and treats from Santa! The children had a great time, and the audience really enjoyed their performance.

  • Year 4 at the Royal Amouries for a Greek Myth workshop

    Wed 03 Dec 2025

Year 4 enjoyed an exciting visit to the Royal Armouries in Leeds to take part in a Greek Mythology workshop. During the workshop, the children learnt about the Oracle of Delphi and how messages were believed to be delivered from the god Apollo. They then took part in Spartan warrior training, where they practised using a shield, learned how Spartans would “steal” as part of their training, and completed a series of fitness challenges. The children also had great fun acting out the dramatic story of Perseus and Medusa, bringing the myth to life through role-play. To round off the day, everyone watched a combat display between a Roman and a Celt! It was a memorable trip and thoroughly enjoyed!

  • Christmas Music Concert

    Wed 03 Dec 2025

We started the festive season off in style this week, with a concert full of Christmas songs and other lovely music, from many of our Year 5 and 6 musicians. Our orchestra, which now has 30 members in Y3-6, started the concert off, then we heard solos and group pieces from keyboard players, violinists, brass players, drummers, pianists and a clarinetist, before our Year 5 and 6 guitar group were joined by drums and keyboard plus the Year 5 singers, to perform “Titanium”. It was a fabulous celebration of the children’s musical talents at all levels.  Well done to all the children who performed!
