This week in Maths, we have continued our learning about fractions with a focus on recognising and finding one third. We have also started to learn how to find the whole amount. All of our lessons have begun with practical activities, giving the children the opportunity to physically recognise the parts and whole of a fraction. The children have done brilliantly with this hands-on approach and it has really helped to embed their understanding of fractions.
In Writing, we began writing a recount of our recent trip to Cartwright Hall. The children amazed us with how well they remembered the details of the day and they showed great enthusiasm when sharing their experiences.
We also enjoyed a local walk around Fulneck. We were incredibly impressed with the enthusiasm and resilience shown by both classes during our 3-mile walk. The children had a wonderful time exploring the local area and represented the school beautifully throughout.
In Art, we continued practising techniques inspired by David Hockney. This week, we attempted to draw the human body, focusing on accuracy when sketching bodies and faces. Although this was very challenging, we were thrilled with the positive attitudes, determination and willingness to try shown by all of the children
