Summer 1 Week 1
We have had a fantastic first week back at school!
In Maths, we have begun an exciting new topic on fractions. The children have been exploring equal and unequal groups, as well as learning to recognise and find one half.
In Writing, we launched a new unit inspired by the animation Something Fishy. We have been particularly impressed with the wide range of adjectives the children have used to create interesting expanded noun phrases.
In Art, we started a new unit with a focus on the artist David Hockney. Class 2S visited Cartwright Hall, where they had the opportunity to practise some of his techniques, including printing and using iPads to create digital artwork. The day also included time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Lister Park!
We are looking forward to Class 2C visiting Cartwright Hall next week.
