Summer 2 Week 3

Summer 2 Week 3

As always, we're very busy in Year 6 this week! Rehearsals and singing practice for Beauty and the Beast are in full swing, children are starting to go out to their high schools for transition, we'll be carrying on with our abstract art project and we'll been working on our athletics skills in our PE lessons.

Our incredible Sports Leaders have been absolutely amazing with our younger children, supporting them in their Sports Days this week. They have really stepped up and shown fabulous maturity - the days wouldn't run anywhere near as smoothly without them so a huge thank you and well done to them! We've also got our musicians performing in the end of year music concert on Thursday afternoon and our Music Ambassadors are supporting that too. We really do have such a talented bunch of Year 6s this year!

This week, we have also had a visit from the Local Authority writing moderation team. This happens around once every four years where they meet with class teachers to discuss children's writing progress. Miss Brayshay and Miss Ferguson had a fantastic day celebrating the brilliant writing outcomes we've seen this year and it was so lovely to hear wonderful feedback from the writing team who were very, very impressed by the children's independence, imagination and creativity within their writing books.

As the weeks begin to fly, we are going to begin putting together the children's photostories and memories videos for Leavers' Assembly - it really is hard to believe we're nearly at that point. We also have Junior Warrior - our last Springbank trip next week which will be a fantastic way to end our time outside of the classroom.
