Year 5 have had a fantastic first week back after the Easter holidays, and it’s been so lovely to see everyone returning with such positive attitudes and enthusiasm for learning! 😊
In Maths, we’ve jumped straight back into our statistics unit, focusing on reading and interpreting timetables, and the children have been showing great confidence when tackling the different challenges. ⏰
We’ve also launched our new class book, Cosmic, and it’s safe to say the children are already hooked, sharing predictions and asking lots of thoughtful questions about what might happen next! 📖
In Science, we’ve started our exciting new topic all about space, with lots of discussion, curiosity, and some fantastic questions about planets, stars, and the wider universe. 🚀
One of the highlights of the week was our Maya Day with Catherine Conyard, where the children got fully involved in hands-on activities and developed a really good understanding of ancient Maya life and culture. 🏺
On Thursday, the Wonderdome planetarium came to visit, giving us an amazing immersive experience of space, and the children loved being able to explore the solar system in such an engaging way. 🌌
What a brilliant start to the term! It’s been a busy and exciting week, and we’re all really looking forward to the learning still to come! ✨
