PE and Sports Premium

PE and Sports Premium Funding

In March 2013 the government announced that it was to provide additional funding of £150 million to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools in England - The Primary PE & Sport Premium. The funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

Since 2017 schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil annually.  Prior to 2017 schools with 17 or more primary-aged pupils received a lump sum of £8000 plus a premium of £5 per pupil.

Reports on the impact of the PE and Sports Premium Funding

Below you will find the reports on how we spent the Sports Premium funding and the impact this had on improving the quality of PE and Sport at Farsley Springbank for all children.

We are committed to spending the funding in ways that have a long lasting and sustainable impact on all our pupils and staff.  We aim that all teachers will develop skills and confidence to deliver good quality PE teaching.  We aim to ensure that all children are empowered with knowledge, skills and understanding about how to lead a healthy life and develop a love of sport and physical activity.
