This week, Year 2 have continued their learning about fractions, with a focus on identifying unit and non-unit fractions. The children also explored the equivalence between one half and two quarters, and the classes did brilliantly spotting links and making connections within their learning.
In Writing, we have started an exciting new unit centred around plastic pollution. Over the coming weeks, the children will be creating their own non-chronological reports based on everything they have discovered. We have loved seeing the enthusiasm, curiosity and passion each class has shown towards this important topic already!
In Science, we learned about microhabitats and enjoyed exploring different microhabitats around the school grounds, identifying the living things that thrive in these small environments.
In Art, the children have been practising sketching the human body in proportion. Although this has been a challenging skill to develop, the children have shown fantastic perseverance and determination throughout the process. We are incredibly proud of the brilliant body sketches they have created for their final pieces!
