Summer 1 Week 3

Summer 1 Week 3

It has been another busy and engaging week in Year 3!

In Writing, the children completed their recounts of Alice falling down the rabbit hole from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. They focused on using powerful vocabulary and adverbs to make their writing as descriptive and engaging as possible.

In PE, the children worked on athletics, focusing on improving their running speed. They then set up running lanes using hurdles to support their technique and develop their sprinting skills.

In Outdoor Learning, the children explored habitats with Amanda. They searched for living things in our outdoor area and investigated the pond, where they were very excited to discover two newts, observing wildlife in its natural environment.

In Design and Technology, the children began preparing for their upcoming healthy pizzas unit by learning about food hygiene and what makes a balanced, healthy diet.

In Geography, the children revisited their learning about rivers, recapping key features before using atlases to locate some of the world’s longest rivers, strengthening their map skills and global understanding.

It has been a fantastic week of hands-on, practical learning in Year 3!
