Spring 1 - Week 4
Year 1 have been very lucky to enjoy two exciting school trips this week as part of their learning.
Earlier in the week, Year 1 went on a local walk around Bramley Park. During the walk, the children looked for signs of the season, observing changes in the trees, the weather, and any wildlife they could spot. They were able to identify evergreen and deciduous trees and name common birds such as magpies, robins, and pigeons.
Later in the week, the children took their learning even further with an exciting school trip to Snowzone, where they had the opportunity to become real-life explorers themselves, after learning all about explorers such as: Christopher Columbus, Captain James Cook, and Robert Falcon Scott. During the visit, pupils took part in a range of thrilling activities, including a Polar rescue mission, sledging, and learning essential skills for setting up camp.
Both trips brought the children’s classroom learning to life and were fantastic experiences enjoyed by all.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
