Summer 2 - Week 1
Year 1 have been making the most of their outdoor learning opportunities by helping to care for and maintain our Forest School area. The children have enjoyed digging, weeding and looking after the space, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm. Even the rainy weather did not stop them - they had lots of fun getting muddy while working outdoors!
They also ventured outside in Science, where they were challenges to identify a variety of common wild and garden plants, developing their understanding of the natural world around them. The children were super excited when they spotted poppies, forget-me-nots, brambles and daisys within the school grounds.
We also launched our new Design and Technology topic this week, which focuses on designing and creating a delicious fruit salad. The children were all super excited and keen to get started - they started off by learning about the importance of good food hygiene and what makes a healthy, balanced diet.
