Summer 2 Week 5

Summer 2 Week 5

We really are hurtling towards our final few days of Primary School now but the busy days keep on coming!

This week we have been focussing all our efforts on our production of Beauty and the Beast and we would wager that most parents and carers can pretty much say their children's lines themselves by now... It is a super busy time of year and the children are acting with levels of maturity and independence that show us just how ready for their high school journey they are. Speaking of leavers, we are spending some of our singing time preparing for Leavers' Assembly - you'll all be pleased to know, Slipping Through My Fingers will make its annual appearance so get those tissues ready!

The children have also been working on what we like to call their 'Passion Projects' as part of our computing and oracy curricula. We have tasked Year 6 with producing a multi-media project on something that they are incredibly passionate about and can act as an expert about. We will then present these to Year 5 in the final week, allowing the children to practice their public speaking and presenting skills. There is such a lovely range of projects from Manga to cheerleading to rugby league to ballet and dress-making. It's been fabulous to see the children so engaged with their projects and hear about the things they are so passionate about.

With just two weeks to go, we've still got 4 performances of Beauty and the Beast, a water fight, filming memories videos and a ton of health week activities to go...! We really are packing in the experiences before we say farewell in just 2 short weeks time!
