This week has all been about 3 things; writing, production and Flamingo Land!
We have really started the hard work on Beauty and the Beast this week with one dance (almost!) fully choreographed, the start of scenes coming together and lots of time learning the pace and lyrics of some very tricky but absolutely amazing numbers. It is fantastic to see things begin to come together but we certainly have a long way to go!
We have also been finishing our final writing unit of the year. We have a very exciting visit from the local authority next week who will spend some time with Miss Brayshay and Miss Ferguson celebrating the children's achievements in writing. We cannot wait to show off our latest fabulous piece all based on losing our memories - the children really have worked so hard on showing off their Year 6 writing skills. There are many budding authors in the year group, that's for sure.
There is no doubt that the highlight of this week was out trip to Flamingo Land. We weren't sure how much we'd manage to do due to a less than favourable weather forecast but luckily, as usual, it was wrong! We managed with just a lunchtime downpour and the rest of the day was warm and fine. It was absolutely fabulous to see the children relax, have fun and represent the school fabulously. The children were trusted with being remotely supervised and they rose to the challenge magnificently so well done Year 6. We really hope the trip created many happy memories and something they'll remember fondly as they make their way to high school.
The weeks will begin to fly from this point on as there is so much to look forward to!
