Summer 1 Week 3

This week has been full of exciting learning across the curriculum. In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of measuring angles around a point, as well as exploring both regular and irregular polygons. The children have worked hard to apply their knowledge and solve problems with increasing confidence.

In Writing, the class has thoroughly enjoyed creating imaginative audio diaries from space. The pupils have shown great creativity, putting themselves in the shoes of Liam from our book 'Cosmic' with a focus on the use of informal language to really encapsulate the tone of an audio diary.

In Reading, we have continued exploring Cosmic, with a particular focus on developing inference skills. The children have been thinking carefully about what is implied in the text and using evidence to support their ideas.

In Science, we have been learning about the Moon’s orbit around the Earth, helping us to better understand how it moves and why it appears to change shape over time.

We also had a fantastic end to the week with a special visit from author Ross Welford on Friday, which inspired the children and sparked lots of excitement about reading and writing.

Well done to everyone for their enthusiasm and effort this week — keep it up!
