  • Year 4's trip to the Leeds Discovery Centre linked to the Romans

    Wed 06 May 2026

Year 4 had an exciting trip to Leeds Discovery Centre to find out more about the Romans. Whilst they were there, they took part in some role play and acted out how the Romans invaded Yorkshire. The children then had a carousel of activities. The first activity had the children examine different, real Roman artefacts which had been found in Leeds. They had to wear gloves and be proper archaeologists! They then had a go at designing their own Roman coin. The children were able to see lots of different coins for inspiration. Finally, the children looked at different pots, some were intact however some were broken. They had to use their prediction skills to guess what they would have been used for and what they might have looked like back then. To finish the trip, the children had time to explore the vaults of the Discovery Centre. They saw an array of different animals, bones and remnants of the past!

  • Reception's class assembly

    Wed 06 May 2026

Reception children performed a wonderful assembly based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar and we could not be prouder of them. The children wore handmade caterpillar headbands, sang a song retelling the story, shared beautiful artwork they had created in class and used Makaton to help bring the story to life. It was wonderful to see so many parents and family members there to cheer on and support the children. The smiles and excitement in the room made the assembly truly special. We are so happy and incredibly proud of every child for their confidence, creativity and enthusiasm.

The children in years 4-6 were visited by Ross Welford who is the author of one of the class novels that the children read in Year 5! Ross talked to the children about his stories and how he comes up with his ideas before also signing some of the children's books! All of the children had brilliant time meeting and listening to Ross - here's is to inspiring authors of the future!
