This week in history, the children were faced with the challenge of becoming analytical historians. We discussed the events of the Battle of Britain and examined a variety of sources surrounding this period of history. We then discussed the impact these events would have on the people involved in the Battle of Britain and then carried out a piece of writing which asked us to respond in different ways to the information and discussions we had had. You can see below an example of one of the sources we used. We looked at the picture and tried to imagine how the soldiers would have been feeling during their journey to the beaches, using the background knowledge we had just explored.
