Science (Magnets in Daily Life) 29.01.2025

Today in science, the children learnt about where magnets are used in daily life. We discussed how they’re used in maglev trains, in MRI scans and in compasses. We then learnt that a compass works as it connects to the Earth’s 2 poles – North and South. We then had a go at using a compass and went outside to practise this! We created a route in partners using the compasses (eg. Start at the bench, walk 4 steps North. Then, take 3 steps West). We then swapped over and another pair had to try follow our route.
