We have had a fantastic week again in Year 3 and have completed our very first Year 3 school trip!

Our trip to Nell Bank for their Stone Age workshop has definitely been the highlight of the week and it was lovely to not only see how engaged the children were with learning about their new topic but also how they took all of the lessons on respect and being ready to learn that we have done over the last few weeks and showed the Nell Bank staff just what they were capable of! Whilst at Nell Bank, the children took part in a carousel of activities in the morning - they decorated their 'cave' with cave paintings, wove a basket to gather their berries and created fire to cook their food and warm themselves - and then created their own dens in the afternoon using natural resources.

In maths, the children have begun their first maths unit on place value and have been learning practically about the value of a hundred.

In writing, we have started our first writing unit where the children are going to create 'WANTED' posters to help capture the person who made a mess of Mrs Fletcher's garden, Mrs Twit. The children have begun this unit by recapping on adjectives and expanded noun phrases.

Finally, in Science the children have created their own animals restaurants as part of their learning on how animals get their nutrition.
