1W trip to Harlow Carr

On Monday, 1W went to Harlow Carr in Harrogate to enjoy the lovely gardens and support their learning on plants and the four seasons. We started off with a hunt around the grounds where the children had to work together to spot things usually found in the summer months such as bees & daisies. We also went into the edibles garden to spot different fruits and vegetables that can be grown in the UK. All the children had great fun playing in one of the play areas - they loved seeing how high they could push the big swing! After lunch, the children went searching around the rose gardens for petals to create a beautiful bookmark and back in the classroom afterwards they had the opportunities to draw and label what they had seen. It was lovely to see the children enjoying themselves, pointing out plants and trees they have learnt about and enjoying their colourful surroundings.
