Four members of our Year 5 School Council had the exciting opportunity to attend the Leeds Children’s Mayor Summit. During the day, they met both the Leeds Children’s Mayor and the Lord Mayor of Leeds, learning more about their important roles within the city. The children enjoyed a tour of the council chambers, where they discovered how decisions are made and gained an insight into local democracy. They also took part in a range of engaging games and activities alongside pupils from other schools across Leeds. We were particularly proud of how confidently our representatives spoke when using a microphone to share their ideas and opinions. They were excellent ambassadors for our school, demonstrating maturity, enthusiasm and confidence throughout the day.
