Year 6 Bikeability training
The Year 6 children have been spending the last few days taking part in Bikeability workshops with a view to earning their Level 2 accreditation. Sessions will continue after half term so all children have the chance to participate. The sessions began in the school playground where the children built their confidence and started to learn some of the rules of cycling on the road, but in a safe environment. Some children, who showed confidence and demonstrated safe cycling skills, had the opportunity to get out on the open road and put their new learning into practice. Performing manoeuvres in the local area, the children were able to gain real-life confidence on the roads as they worked towards the final badge. All Year 6 children so far have made progress with their cycling skills, which we hope will enable them to continue to enjoy cycling safely outside school.
