We've had another busy but fun week in Year 3 and it has been really lovely to see the children creating some wonderful work throughout the week!

In writing, the children have continued to practice the key writing skills that they need in order to produce a detailed character description of the terrible Mrs Twit for their 'WANTED' posters. They have used their expanded noun phrases that they created last week to make sentences about her and then use apostrophes for possession as another way of describing her! Finally, in today's lesson the children used all of this to create their first drafts of their poster in their partners!

In maths, the children have continued to develop their understanding of a hundred. They have partitioned three digit numbers into their place value and flexibly partitioned them in various different ways. For our times table practice, we have been consolidating their learning from the previous year and have been recapping their ten times tables!

Our history lesson this week took Year 3 time travelling from the present day all the way back to the Palaeolithic - we used lego bricks to represent 100 years on our chronological timeline and discovered that there weren't enough bricks in school to go all the way back to the Stone Age!

In PE, the children have been building up their foundational skills and have been practicing running, balancing and throwing as well as building up their knowledge of different sporting rules by practicing some football in our multi-sports lessons.
