Week 4

It has been another productive week, with the children engaging positively across a range of subjects and developing their knowledge and understanding through a variety of activities.

In Science, we have been learning about our senses and the different parts of the body associated with them. The children have identified that the nose is used for smell, the tongue for taste and the eyes for sight. They have been developing their understanding of how our senses help us to explore and understand the world around us.

In History, we have been exploring life in the 1960s and comparing it with life today. Our focus has been on the development of technology, considering the similarities and differences between the ways people lived in the past and how we live today.

The children particularly enjoyed learning about how people listened to music in the 1960s, including the use of records and cassette tapes. This provided an opportunity to consider how technology has changed over time and how the ways in which we listen to music today differ from those of the past.

In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of how to compare numbers. We have focused on the vocabulary more than, less than and equal to, using these terms to describe and compare different numbers and quantities.

In PSHE, we have been discussing the importance of responsibility. The children considered the responsibilities they have at school, at home and within their communities. We explored why being responsible is important and how our actions can affect others.
