Henri Matisse Inspired Final Pieces 10.07.2024

This half term, Year 3 have been learning about Henry Matisse and have been looking at the style of work he created. Throughout our lessons, we have used a range of skills: drawing, experimenting with water colour and free hand cutting. The children then learnt about complimentary colours and the colour wheel, then experimented with different complimentary colours.

For their final piece, the children watercoloured a sheet of paper each using two complimentary colours, then used freehand cutting to make a group collage in the style of Matisse.
