This week, Year 6 produced a piece of discursive writing surrounding the idea that volcanoes should be made extinct by scientists to avoid more natural disasters. In discursive writing we aim to make sure that both sides of the argument are heard equally. We cannot allow ourselves to be 'biased' - we must tell the whole story so we spent our morning on a fact finding mission to ensure that we weren't reporting 'fake news'!
