Can you grow your own vegetables?
This week Year 1 started to explore our new topic. We started the week learning about what plants need to grow before setting up our very own experiment. We planted bean seeds before setting them up around the school. Some will be getting no light, some no water and some are living in the fridge! We are very excited to monitor what will happen and will be keeping a weekly bean diary to record the changes.
We have also been looking at different types of flowers and vegetables so we can begin to learn the common names. We sorted a variety of vegetables and tried to name as many as possible and also designed our very own dream gardens.
We've had a great first week of our new topic and look forward to learning more over the next half term.
