Summer 2 Week 6 15.7.22

Hello!

This week in maths the children have been making circular patterns. The children have also learnt how to use sequential language to make maps from stories. We made a map based on Goldilocks journey to grandma’s house, thinking about which landmarks she passed on the way. We use the language first, next, after that, finally, first, second, third. We also thought about our journeys to school and how we could map these out using basic symbols to represent things we pass on the way from home to school.

Next week we will be doing some problem solving involving counting on and back, finding the missing number and comparing amounts.

In Understanding the World this week we have been thinking about what makes us special, what makes other people special and who are special people in religion. The children have had some really thoughtful and insightful ideas to share about this topic.

Next week we will be thinking about transition, our feelings about when things change and what we’d like our teacher to know about us ready for the move into Year 1.

Thank you for your continued support and for ensuring your child has water, a hat and sun cream applied each day, especially as the weather has been so warm.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.
