Silly Soup 05.10.18

Silly Soup

This week the children have been practising identifying initial sounds as well as blending using the first few sounds that they have learnt (s a t p i n). They played a game called Silly Soup whereby the teacher asks a child to find an item starting with a certain sound. All the children did really well and loved joining in with the Silly Soup rhyme.

I'm going to make a silly soup,

I'm going to make a soup that's silly.

I'm going to cook it in the fridge,

To make it nice and chilly!

Poor Mrs Hicks ended up eating an apple, alligator, igloo, sock, tree and nest filled soup!
