What an incredible experience Year 5 had today! We took a trip back in time to Murton Park, where we all became part of the Roman Army. Dressed in our Roman tunics, we wrote application letters in traditional Roman script and made an oil lamp from clay that we get to take home. Our favourite part was the weapons training! We worked in units, learning to fight with wooden swords and javelins. We impressed our Centurion by properly forming a 'tortoise' formation and used this to scare off a rogue Celtic town man. At the end of all our hard word, we earned our Roman pay!
