Welcome back, Year 5!
Year 5 have made a fabulous start to the their first week back! They have shown their maturity and have been brilliant role models for the rest of the school. At the beginning of the week, the children worked hard being detectives to try and find out what book we will be reading. We used all the clues and discovered our first class novel: The Iron Man! The children made wonderful predictions and thought about what could happen throughout the story.
In our learning challenge, children began to think about what they already know about space. We were blown away by how many facts the children already knew and they definitely taught us things we didn't know before. We worked really hard to learn the names of the planets in order, with some children even challenging themselves to say them backwards!
