Experimenting with charcoal
In art, the children have been researching an artist called Kathe Kollwitz who uses charcoal to draw sketches of people. Today in art, the children experimented with vine charcoal, compressed charcoal and different chalks to see what kinds of lines they could create as well as how they could use these materials to shade and create textures in different ways.
