Today in our science lesson, Year 4 were learning about how sound is amplified and how the sound waves alter when the volume is increased. We did a practical experiment to show the children how the vibrations get stronger when a sound gets louder using rice and a speaker. The children made the rice 'dance' by altering the amplitude of the sound waves. We also detected the sound waves using a virtual oscilloscope to see if we could spot any patterns.
