Cartwright Hall Art Gallery
Our Learning Challenge in Year 2 this half term has been 'How has David Hockney's art changed over time?' so as we are David Hockney experts, we were all excited to visit Cartwright Hall Art Gallery on Tuesday. We had the opportunity to look around the art galleries and ask questions about the paintings and sculptures that we saw. In here we were given a sketch book and practised sketching by copying some of the artwork. The children were able to walk through the David Hockney gallery and see the famous swimming pool piece, 'Le Plongeur' - we couldn't believe how big it was! We had chance to create our own art by using the same techniques that Hockney did. We all had such an enjoyable day and look forward to the next one!
