Fun with maths 17.01.20

This week we have been using lots of games to make sure we really understand the number 6. Outside we have been using some of our equipment to help us. We had a hoop and 6 beanbags and threw the beanbags towards the hoop. We then counted how many were inside and how many outside. We played a similar game in the hall with one of our favourites - the lycra! We tried to keep as many balls on as possible but enevitably some flew off!

These types of games really help the children to build their knowledge of the number and what it is made up of. They now understand that it could be a 6 and 0, a 5 and 1, 4 and 2 and so on.
