Batik
Orla Kiely (OBE) is an Irish designer who is famous for her fabric and pattern designs.
Her brand is recognisable by her use of bright colours and all of her work follows a nature theme where she uses block shapes to represent different types of plants and flowers. As part of out art topic, we have been studying Orla's work and doing close observational and line drawings, following her nature theme. We're looking forward to creating our designs using the batik technique which will involve us using glue and dye to create intricate patterns on cloth.
