First Week 08.09.23
Year 6 have had a fantastic start to the year and have thrown themselves into lots of new topics across the week. In reading, we have been studying the book Rose Blanche which has helped us to put new learning from our history topic surrounding World War 2 into context. We became scientists, using classroom resources to prove that light travels in straight lines and use their previous learning to explain why some resources could help us prove this better than others. We have also worked hard on our teamwork and communication skills in our Outdoor Activity PE unit. It has certainly been a busy week with singing, music, assemblies, new maths learning and Year 6 responsibilities too - the children are certainly ready to have a rest over the weekend! All the staff have been incredibly pleased with how the children have settled in - it's like they have always been in Year 6. Well done!
